Abstract

Phytochemical investigation on the ethanol extract of Boswellia papyrifera stem barks let to the isolation of new sterol (29-methyl, nonanoate-cholest-7, 22-dien-3β-ol 2) along with three known related compounds, Stigmasterol 1, β-sitosterol-3-O-β-D-glucoside 3 and Spinasterol 3-O-β-Dglucopyranoside 4. Their structures were defined by various spectroscopic studies including 1D, 2D-NMR, MS analysis and by comparison with those reported in the literature.
